I figured that instead of creating a new topic I would just post in this one. Recently the hot97 stream link has died. Ive noticed however over at streamaudio they stated that on the 11th they stated that they installed software to prevent "hijacking" of streams

http://www.streamaudio.com/site/press/021108.aspx

I was wondering if this could be the possible reason why the link is working or did i miss something? Also does anyone know of another way to stream hot97  Tongue

Don't think so

Article is dated FEB 11 , 2008

I think too many were listening to the test stream.

so it got pulled.   OR  the following line from R&R might explain what may happen

"Thirty-nine-year radio veteran Dan Halyburton is named president of RadioTime Inc., a developer of technology for finding and listening to radio online"

This "unofficial" Hot 97 stream from Stream Audio has been on and off for at least 5-6 months. So it could very well come back.

However, I really don't understand why Emmis doesn't just put up streams for Hot 97, WRKS and Power 106 when it is streaming everything else in its larger markets and has been for awhile.

I thought Emmis have deal with a company who makes an application for the iphone so you can listen wireless. They mention all the stations in NYC that they start with streaming.
