everyone in the lakes who wants classic rock listens to GIR, what he should do is put the mix format on either scy or pnh, he would save atleast one salary.

Warren is leaving? When did this happen? Well, then Matt Jeff, (Wolf) Chris I (LNH)and Warren all left. Maybe that's what saved cuts.

Jeff Fisher should shake things up and flip WSCY to classic rock....or maybe WPNH

You know, Jim, flipping WSCY might to Classic Rock might just work IMHO with Nassau leaving that format hole in the market. It really hasn't done much as a Country station, and has pretty decent Lakes Region coverage. I don't know if it's possible, but I wonder if they could get tower space in Gilford or Laconia to improve signal strength towards Concord and still city grade its COL of Moultonborough? Couldn't be any more expensive than maintaining their almost impossible-to-get-to current site, I'd guess.
PNH has their little niche in a college town...I doubt they'd flip it.

WPNH seems to have found its niche with altrock in a college town.
OTOH, WSCY seems to be pretty much a wasted signal, it's been a while since I've seen anything but 12+ numbers, but I never hear them anywhere.  Granted, I'm not in/near Moultonborough very often so maybe they have an audience in that part of the region.  Still, WBLM is pretty popular around here, throwing on some bird-fed classic rock isn't gonna make a dent in their listenership.

GIR is not exactly classic rock and it's nearly impossible to listen to in the lakes region for any lenght of time while driving.    Most people listening to country are tuned to 93.3 or 103.7.  Nassau flipping 93.3 to country killed SCY in Laconia-Tilton-Belmont.  You guys are right on PNH.  Leave it alone.  But they need to do something with SCY,  As far as moving the transmitter to Laconia or Gilford...I think WERZ would be a bit ticked about that.  Thay could move closer to the population center by moving down to Meredith.

found its niche? have you looked at the sales? If it wasnt for mix both scy and pnh would have gone belly up years ago. Why do you think hey only have 1 person staffs. No formats will change in that building, they all hate change.

It's crazy to think that the Lakes Region has gone from 2 classic rock stations before Nassau came to town, to what will soon be none. Hopefully 106.9 will flip, although I'm sure it would just be mostly satellite fed. Maybe they could get a translator somewhere in the Laconia area? WGIR had one at one time on 100.7, but they seem to have let it go.

according to the press release, they are going to offer classic/oldies on 104.9 out of wolfeboro. isn't that good enough?

Have you listened to 107.5 out of Portland or 106.3 Nashua? I'm sure it'll be exactly like those, which I guess does include quite a bit of classic rock, but it's not going to be the same for those that have been used to regular classic rock for quite a while. The classic rock lite format, with the same songs over and over, gets old after a while.
