AZTV-DT up and running
« on: January 15, 2008, 01:32:23 PM »

Had some serious sound issues this morning, which I'm sure will be worked out, if not already, but the signal is up and clear.

They've been having PSIP issues throughout the day (they must be working out the technical glitches), but I'm now receiving them as 7.1. So far, the clearest looking standard-definition DTV picture I've seen, and blows away their DirecTV feed (I wonder if this will change once they bring in the multicast channels).

Audio kinks seem to be worked out.  They're broadcasting their AZTV feed on both 7.1 (AZTV 1) and 7.2 (AZTV 2), the latter almost certainly temporary pending the launch of RTN.

I noticed this too, as well as a PSIP map that includes a "7.10" which was marked "LONDEN." 7.10 is not  a working channel, but an interesting find anyway.

As for 7.2, could they just put up a slide in memoriam of Ron Bergamo for the time being until RTN is up and running, or don't they have the capability to do so?

...okeh. NOW it's coming in -- amazingly clear -- in Maryvale. I'll have to check back after the morning preachers to see how the *real* schedule looks ;-) ...

...oh, I also noticed that the legal ID is still being displayed as KAZT-CA Phoenix. Do I assume there's no change in call sign and suffix even though the analog signal is no more?...

...and at 7:00 P.M. Thursday the 17th it's back to "no signal" again. Sat down to watch the Coyotes game and getting a blue screen. C'mon guys, get your act together!...

Must have been a temporary glitch - they're back up and running at 11:30 PM.

...got the reception problem fixed. Had to turn the antenna to the North rather than towards South Mountain like for the rest of the stations...
