AZTV-DT up and running

I am not receiving KAZT-DT in Ahwatukee. Is the transmitter on S.Mountain or somewhere else in town?

It's right on South Mtn.  When I set up my TV, AZTV didn't scan in. I had to specifically go find it.

One more thing:

If you have a newer DirecTV HD receiver, you will have to go through channel setup again with the off-air stations to receive KAZT-CA DT. Its default setting is Channel 25 for the Prescott digital channel, but will eventually find the signal on Channel 27 through the PSIP.

I have a DirecTV H20 with an antenna pointed toward Tucson to receive those channels, but have never had any real problem getting any of the South Mountain sticks, save for the occasional issue with 15. 7-1 has come up on my guide for a few months now, but as recently as today I can't get anything to come up. Not even a searching for signal message. Just blank. Do I need to look for Channel 27, or will it map down to 7-1? I'm a little confused.

You would have to go through local channel setup and start all over again by entering your ZIP codes and such. the DirecTV receiver will scan every broadcast frequency to correspond to the virtual number. But, if you antenna is pointed toward Tucson and you're in the east Valley, it might not work, given that the power on KAZT-CA DT is much less than that of the other DTV's from South Mountain.

The Insignia DTV converter box I just installed today picks up 7.1 & 7.2 just fine with rabbit ears from my location in central Scottsdale. I honestly didn't think such a cheap piece of equipment would lock on to a low power signal with a cheap antenna, but it works fine with just the occasional picture blocking. Now all AZTV needs to do is to get RTN on the air...
