You guys come on here with your nice little quips and shots, yet not one of you has addressed the question at hand here.

A few weeks back the "pro-HD" crowd talked about the "HD iPod docking station" and how this was going to bring HD to the front of the line.  Just wait until MacWorld!

Well, it's come and gone.  No HD iPod docking station anywhere in sight.  Where did you guys get this great information?

I'm not here to pick a fight, but why can't you just admit that you got bad info and move on instead of insulting people and trying to be witty?

According to the HD Radio supporters only what they call the "anti-HD" crowd has bad information, malicious evil intent, hidden agendas, secret subversive alliances, etc., etc. Only the righteous HD promoters have the secret snake oil alchemy to "save radio" and deliver it to the promised land.

HD Radio is about nothing, if not deception.

Good point.  I don't recall the "Just wait for MacWorld" thing.  Just the "This device is in development."  I may be wrong,  but I honestly do not recall anything about Macworld.

Basically what happened was posted as a comment on Gorman's blog.    Here's the link.  http://gormanmediablog.blogspot.com/2008/01/radio-get-that-man-intervention-fast.html#c5015561681446305492

Nah.  HD radio is also about black helicopters and radio waves directed at special chips imbedded in you brain.

The only ones proposing "black helicopters" and "special chips" are the rabid HD radio promoters. The rest of us have no desire or need for such expensive, specialized, exotic HD radio reception equipment.

"Rabid" ?

1. irrationally extreme in opinion or practice: a rabid isolationist; a rabid baseball fan.
2. furious or raging; violently intense: a rabid hunger.
3. affected with or pertaining to rabies; mad.

This is the HD radio board. I wouldn't say that its an extreme position to want to talk about HD radio on a board created to discuss HD radio. Maybe, rather than your name calling here, you'd benifit from a course in English language word useage.

Have you actually read the definitions you posted?
Apparently not.

From your own definitions rabid accurately applies to all HD promoters preaching HD Radio as the ultimate (magic snake oil) salvation for radio.

1. irrationally extreme in opinion or practice: such as- a rabid HD Radio Salvationist; a rabid HD Radio fanatic.
Accurate!

2. furious or raging; violently intense: such as- a rabid personal attacker or zealous personal critic of anyone opposing or questioning the HD promoter's absolute blind faith in HD Radio as the ultimate solution for radio broadcasting's problems.
Accurate, again!

100% accurate on both counts.

Those definitions more aptly point to you, that flatulent "doctor" from the Swindler State and his alter-ego the hippo.

While all of you are constant in wailing and railing against this system and attacking anyone daring to voice approval of it, you've never presented a commercially viable alternative to it.

Atleast go back to the cut and paste responses, it was fun keeping track.

HD Radio promoters have continuously attacked any attempts made to "discuss HD Radio."  HD radio promoters should be taking their own inventory.

Quote
synonyms- discuss argue debate mean to discourse about in order to reach conclusions or to convince. discuss implies a sifting of possibilities especially by presenting considerations pro and con <discussed the need for a new highway>. argue implies the offering of reasons or evidence in support of convictions already held <argued that the project would be too costly>. debate suggests formal or public argument between opposing parties <debated the merits of the amendment>; it may also apply to deliberation with oneself <I'm debating whether I should go>.

Quote
synonyms- vicious villainous iniquitous nefarious corrupt degenerate mean highly reprehensible or offensive in character, nature, or conduct. vicious may directly oppose virtuous in implying moral depravity, or may connote malignancy, cruelty, or destructive violence <a vicious gangster>. villainous applies to any evil, depraved, or vile conduct or characteristic <a villainous assault>. iniquitous implies absence of all signs of justice or fairness <an iniquitous system of taxation>. nefarious suggests flagrant breaching of time-honored laws and traditions of conduct <the nefarious rackets of organized crime>. corrupt stresses a loss of moral integrity or probity causing betrayal of principle or sworn obligations <city hall was rife with corrupt politicians>. degenerate suggests having sunk to an especially vicious or enervated condition <a degenerate regime propped up by foreign powers>.

More personal attacks from the HD Radio promotions gang.

All evidence to date points to HD Radio NOT being a "commercially viable alternative". The year 2008 marks the 5th annual HD Radio "rollout", and shows even less promise of widespread public acceptance.

And for alll you whining about this so called "failed" technology, HD continues to enjoy success as it slowly grows. I really wish a board could be created for those who have nothing but negative things to say about HD radio to vent. I'll bet they'd get tired quickly when there was no one to disagree with them. I can't imagine there would be a bandwidth issue. Wouldn't it be great if like a wall the two sides could be seperated so that for those of us interested in this technology we don't have to wade through page after page of posts from people with a agenda.

No need to do that RF, most of the general public simply doesn't care...  You don't see them posting here, do you?
