"the new" MAGIC 107.3 - Charleston
« on: February 01, 2008, 05:02:41 AM »

Is this still a Citadel Broadcasting station?  I could've swore its was sold to Last Bastion Station group (whoever they are).  I noticed that all Citadel stations have new websites and MAGIC 107.3 happens to be included.

WXST 99.7 is the king of urban in Charleston and we have legendary programmer Michael T to thank for that.
Z-93 and it's programmers got complacent. Look at the fall book and you'll see what I mean.

The success of Star 99.7 is a testament of what happens when a successful programmer does what he does best and isn't around all the corporate crap.

Star 99.7 rules!!!! A new number one finally!!!

I think Citadel got Magic back once they moved 107.5 out of the market to Columbia. On the Wikipedia website it doesn't show Magic 107.3 on the list.

I remember reading something a few months ago saying Citadel had to take back MAGIC.

STAR 99.7 seems to be the dominate Urban AC in the Lowcountry.  They took down MAGIC a while back.  What about new Hip-Hop station to completely take down Z-93?

Why get a new Hip Hop station? Z93 will compete and will win. Sure some of their ratings will go down but not all. Take a look at Charlotte, NC where Clear Channel is trying to hurt Power 98 and Kiss 95.1 with their 96.1 The Beat. Its not working their Power and Kiss are still on top while The Beat is doing nothing much to hurt them. Im surprised Clear Channel hasn't flipped 100.5 yet to maybe 100.5 The Beat. Their biggest competion is Chuck-FM.

When Hot 98.9 signed on in Charleston, it was a GREAT station to go ALONG with Z93 Jamz. I miss Hot 98.9 and 94.3 The Beat when they were CHR/Dance.

No more Urban stations in Charleston.
No more!
We have enough.
93.3, 99.7 and 107.3
92.5 plays a lot of Urban.
95.1 still has a lot in the mix also.
Give us Oldies!
