Who would do Oldies or Classic Hits in Charleston? Citadel wouldn't flip any of their formats as their all doing well and Apex wouldn't either as their formats are all doing well also. So I guess that would leave Clear Channel but they own Y 102.5 which sounds more AC as Charleston lost their AC becauase it went Country as the 107.5 signal went to Columbia. So where else could we place a Classic Hits format in Charleston if we wanted to? I would say 100.5 as Clear Channel is going to sell that station soon.

I agree there, it is almost like Columbia, but at least we have a good lodkes station and that is one thing that Charleston desperately needs as well.

Two FM stations in Charleston are off the air--100.9 & 101.7 oldies and can go on one and CHR Rhythmic on the other. (Is 100.9 ever going to sign back on? (with a stronger signal in the metro areas))

Yeah, Charleston (as well as Greenville/Spartanburg) SERIOUSLY needs an Oldies (or Classic Hits, as they like to call it now) station.  Y102 still plays some 60s and a fair helping of 70s (much like WMYI/Greenville, but they're slightly more gold-based I think...), but they're getting pretty bold with the currents - I see P!nk, Green Day, GooGoo Dolls, etc.  Hardly qualifies for an Oldies or CH station anymore.  A station with a good mix of 60s, 70s, and some 80s in Charleston, like CBS-FM in NYC, would be nice.

I don't see Clear Channel putting that format on WALC, though, as it's too similar to WXLY - can Apex buy any more stations?  If so....they should buy 100.5 and put Classic Hits there.

You folks in Columbia and MYB are really lucky!!

Put Oldies on 101.7, or 100.9.
Just get it back in Charleston.
Until then it is XM 5 and 6, and Sirius 5 and 6.

Z-93 and it's programmer got complacent. Michael T, pd of Star 99.7 is far superior to the Citadel programmer. Hands down..

You also forgot channel 7 on both XM and Sirius, we cannot forget the 70's too.
Put Oldies on 101.7, or 100.9.
Just get it back in Charleston.
Until then it is XM 5 and 6, and Sirius 5 and 6.

Hey Citadel should put Classic Hits on 107.3 and dump the Magic format. But the Magic format would still be here as Clear Channel could put it on 100.5. Only reason now that I could see Citadel doing it as they have a Classic Hits station in Coulmbia which I forgot about. Also everyone knows Clear Channel has to sell 100.5 soon right?

So why are people in Myrtle Beach lucky? If you want to call Sunny 106.5 a good classic hits station you can but its really now. The Cumulus stations here suck always having problems due to storms or something. Or a huge pause after getting out of the song as they don't go straight into saying the stations name.
