Hey Fresh, we already have one on KBSG, Channel HD Channel 2, "Classic Soul and R & B". It's my favorite station.

Wasn't that (basically) what KBKS was in their first incarnation, remember the Dana Dearden days? ....Whatever happened to her BTW, wouldn't she be good as part of that yaya good sisterhood sorority going on over there at Moovin, Mamma? Grin

Is it just me, or was KQMV (or earlier, KBKS, circa 1996, or even earlier, KQIN 820 AM, circa 1986), supposed to do that?

It all could have worked, just that early KBKS and KQIN lacked enough promotion. KQIN had an AWESOME Urban AC format for it's time as well as an AWESOME AM signal and it sounded far more FM than AM, it just never had the deeper reaching promotion beyond some billboard ads on Metro buses...

KBKS originally? Well, I cannot recall any advertisements for it was when it came out ORIGINALLY with the original Urban AC format PRIOR to becoming CHR in 1997, If anyone can find them and post them...you're awesome!....You get BONUS COOL points if you can find any KQIN '85-86 promos. If you can copy the original KQIN 1985-86 ads (usually with the artwork of Billy Ocean's "Suddenly" album that you can copy up here in it's full ad, that was the one I remembered seeing everywhere. Or the ESPECIALLY rarer ones of Chaka Khan or Stevie Wonder, you get even BONUS points for all out Seattle radio coolness!)

Even more than I, I humbly admit.....

The Beat, 95.7 was a great attempt. Apparently the $$ weren't there to supprt the station. Too much overlap within the cluster with KUBE? Sandusky has dealt with the same issue.

That's pretty funny, because The Beat was merely a smokescreen for KJR-FM.
