A 0.5 indicates that out of every 200 people listening to the radio, 199 of them don't choose to listen to your station. That's not much to brag about under any circumstances.

Even for a ratings titan like Rush Limbaugh, 90% of the people are listening to music or sports or something else.

WVKO went ahead of former progressive talker WYTS and religious talker WRFD in the latest Arbitron ratings.   Smiley

Indeed they did. And by an entire 1/10th of a point!!

Just think, if they can just increase their ratings by an additional 33% they'll have one entire point!

I guess the station that's at #1 in the market (which is also a news/talk station) with an 8.7 share is really getting worried about the threat of serious competition.

Actually, it's 2/10ths of a point.  As for the station which is #1, all power to them.  WVKO just beat its little sister, the one which used to carry progressive talk and now carries Savage.   Cheesy

The next target is WTDA, the local outlet for Glenn Beck, Bob and Tom, Dennis Miller and Fox Sports.  Once there, WVKO will have the attention of local advertising agencies for achieving a rating above 1.0.

And lest anyone forget...this is only the station's second book.

Oh, one more thing, Bizzy.  The General Manager tells me WVKO's web stream has been maxing out during Stephanie Miller.  When she comes back to Columbus, we will make sure to invite you--especially if she is attired in the dominatrix outfit she wore for the Los Angeles Gay Pride Parade.   Grin
